Andrea Poulsen joined the Science Center in 2023. As Program Facilitator for FirstHand, Andrea is responsible for organizing, facilitating, and leading middle school and high school STEM programs with Philadelphia youth.

Andrea’s prior teaching experience includes a variety of photography enrichment courses, as well as math intervention instruction in a local public charter school. Additionally, she is trained as a biomedical research technician and has worked in the biotech industry at Integral Molecular.

Andrea holds a bachelor’s degree in photography from the University of the Arts and an associate degree in biology from Community College of Philadelphia. She is currently working toward an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction specializing in STEM teaching.

When Andrea isn’t at the Science Center, you can find her playing music, making art, or taking her dog to the park.
